Capital for Children is a philanthropic and professional networking organization of leaders in private equity and related industries that invests in nonprofits serving children, youth, and young adults in the Washington, DC region. Through a combination of financial support and members’ participation on boards, Capital for Children forms relationships with our nonprofit partners and helps strengthen their capacity and impact. We leverage the expertise of our members and provide guidance in such areas as finance, governance, and strategic planning.
OUR HISTORY
In 2006, six professionals in the DC-area private equity community came together to create an innovative membership organization with two primary goals:
In 2020, Capital for Children expanded its areas of funding to include nonprofits focused on workforce development and career- and job-readiness. Since its founding, Capital for Children has made grants totaling more than $1.9M to 14 nonprofit organizations.
