IMPACT AND VALUE TO THE
NONPROFITS:
Our members are active and engaged members on the boards of our nonprofit partners. They have:
- Served as Chair and Treasurer of nonprofit partners’ Boards of Directors
- Served on Executive, Finance, and Governance Committees on Boards
- Served on Search Committees for nonprofits’ new executive directors
- Conducted a compensation survey of Capital for Children’s nonprofit partners and shared the results (with partners’ permission) to help each nonprofit evaluate its internal compensation policies
- Created Audit Committees and spearheaded strategic planning and budgeting efforts
- Helped develop financial forecasting models
Capital for Children has been an integral part of the New Futures community. Beyond being a generous grant provider, they have been a steadfast partner, offering educational opportunities, board membership, invaluable insights, and event support. We are fortunate to be part of the same nonprofit ecosystem!
For Sitar Arts Center, Capital for Children is a one-of-a-kind partner. The committed annual financial support is mission critical, but the impact extends far beyond an annual gift. In addition to the financial expertise that Capital for Children brings, I’ve enjoyed the C4C network of other nonprofit leaders. I admire all the nonprofit partners and my peer EDs provide helpful advice and connections. C4C is a creative and well-executed model for a professional networking organization to make transformative impact.
For me, being a member of Capital for Children is about the power of community. A community of colleagues and friends leveraging their financial resources and expertise to facilitate the growth of the most innovative and impactful nonprofits. As a community we accomplish so much more than we could as individuals.
Being able to interact & network with my peers in finance while at the same time giving back to our community through our work with our partner nonprofits has been a truly unique opportunity. The Capital for Children model – networking linked with philanthropy- continues to deliver for all involved.
I believe we all have a responsibility to give back to our communities. Capital for Children provides a means to leverage our business acumen to help build stronger nonprofits which can then expand their programmatic delivery.

- Deepen their understanding of effective fundraising, which helps them as advocates for their own businesses
